Just an Update

Hey guys, sorry it always takes so long between my journal updates.

I've been really busy this week (no more summer leisure for me) and have been starring longingly at my sketchbook and tablet but there just isn't the time right now. Hopefully things will slow down and get more steady in the next few weeks. I have to say I REALLY miss the summer! Nothing better than getting to sit outside and paint flowers :)

I'm hoping to draw something (or at least start a new work) soon. The only thing is that now I don't have my regular computer and am instead working off of my laptop which is kind of frustrating to use my tablet with. It gets all jumpy and weird. But I've done it before and will work to reacquaint myself with it. I've been working hard to improve my digital coloring skills so I hope that my recent works show improvement over each of its predecessors. I think I'm finally starting to develop a technique to use in photoshop elements that more closely mimics the way I oekaki without using pixel brushes. which is a good thing.

Anyone know of any interesting text memes to do? Maybe I'll start doing those every once in awhile.

I likewise wish I had more free time now... I really miss summer. >< I even brought my tablet and everything.

:( Sorry to hear that you're too busy to do what you enjoy... I do look forward to seeing more of your work, if your schoolwork ever lets up a little.

By the way, you remember my obsession with ballet and my whole I-wish-I-could-take-lessons-but-am-too-lame-to-do-anything-but-whine thing? Well, I'm enrolled in a Modern Dance class, which isn't strictly ballet, but it definitely has a foundation in ballet, so we're learning a lot of the basics. And I absolutely love it. It's two hours long and not nearly long enough-- I keep looking at the clock and hoping it'll stop moving so fast.

Just wanted to let you know. Since, you know, you definitely told me at one point that I should go ahead and give it a go.

So, yeah.

Again, I really hope you get a chance to get back to the artwork, since I know how much you enjoy it (and, selfishly enough, because I really enjoy seeing it. :) )

That is awesome, I'm so happy for you! I've always been a terrible dancer (with the exception of my AMAZING interpretive dancing skills) but it always looks so beautiful when you watch someone who can really do it well. That sounds like so much fun and I hope you find ways to slow the time down and enjoy it!

Aww thanks :) I'm really used to the academic-artistic conflict in my life by now, but its still frustrating. I'll try to work on a few pieces here and there though!
